UK Chancellor Gordon Brown is to speak at the Make Poverty History rally in Edinburgh on Saturday 2 July. He told Radio Clyde that he'd been invited. I doubt very much that this will please the Dissent network, who in today's Guardian are complaining that the G8 protest had been hijacked by Bob Geldof and MPH.
Can anybody out there remember the last time a Labour front-bench leader took part in a protest (as opposed to a party rally or conference)? What do you think? Email me.
